The deck has three main strenghts that make it fast, furious and reliable. They are listed individualy below with some notes on synergy between them. It's a little longwinded, but if you don't play it yourself you can miss how well it can work.

Mana:

Urza's land was the only colorless mana ramp fast enough to support this creature base. The Expedition Maps and deck thinning make getting a set pretty reliable.

Creatures:

While i can have one big creature with several abilities, the real strength is that it can be any one at any time. Combat tricks for blocking and dodging destruction provide a solid defense. Evasion for offense.

Card Advantage:

First I want to get the Skeleton Shard out of the way. I only need two creatures and a Shard. I then have as many creatures as I have mana to play. Simple as that. The Baubles thin the deck, think of each Bauble, Evolving Wild, Blasted Landscape and Map as none existent. This is a deck that feels like 40 cards that gets 8 mana out of 4 lands. Thinning the deck on this scale for little to no cost, except tempo, is better than any draw I could find in colorless.
