Card Choices
Control and burn spells help slow down the opponent and sometimes rid them of any options so we can win with our creatures going unblocked

  • Dispel- I use this card to ensure we can land a Clout of the Dominus early.
  • Izzet Charm- Decent utility card. Can help dig if needed, can kill off a creature, or can counter a spell.
  • Lightning Bolt- Can kill creatures, can kill opponent, is cheap spell.
  • Electrolyze- Can ping off smaller dudes and helps me cycle through my deck. Spells in the grave are good.
  • Spell Snare- It's one mana and can counter most counter spells ie Remand and Mana Leak. It also hits Tarmogoyf and Scavenging Ooze. It is also very helpful as it is only one blue mana. If the opponent's deck isn't very heavy on 2 cmc spells it just gets sided out.
  • Serum Visions - Decent turn one play. Helps to scry away potentially useless Clout of the Dominus' later in the game.
  • Opt - Similar to Serum Visions.
  • Anger of the Gods - We don't have any early game board presence so we will need this card vs more aggro type decks.
  • Roast - Sometimes they got something big we just gotta burn.



Board Presence
Any deck with lots of non-creature spells still needs some board presence.
  • Spellheart Chimera- The trample effect is what makes this card such a necessity. It gets huge from all the spells we will be dishing out and it doesn't care about your opponent's little chump blockers.
  • Enigma Drake - Spellheart 2.0. Except I like this one even more because it isn't killed by Lightning Bolt.
  • Clout of the Dominus- This card is a surprise factor. If you have four mana open and your yard is filled with instant/sorcery spells then you can surprise your opponent with a large chunk of damage with Spellheart Chimera. It also helps Spellheart Chimera beat up 'goyf.


Winning the Game
Games are won by having a huge Spellheart Chimera or Enigma Drake out early and rushing our opponents down while countering their plays.
