This list was inspired by the old C19 Merciless Rage precon using Chainer, Nightmare Adept as the commander. I play budget magic with friends that are not very competitive so I tend to avoid running spikey cards and infinite combos. I also want to avoid Living Death in here because it is typically an "oops I win" card that, barring the recent Warhammer Necron deck, you do not typically find in precon lists. That said, Grimoire of the Dead kept it's spot since it was included in the original build and is a fair alternative. Otherwise, the strategy revolves around accruing value from Chainer's reanimation ability while grinding opponents' out with Gray Merchant and Flayer of the Hatebound.
