So this deck was first inspired when I got a smoldering marsh expedition at a pre-release. I wanted a way to use one expedition without it feeling weird that I wasn't using other ones. Of course, I only kind of succeeded, because Blood Crypt and the fetchland exist, but I'm not made of money. Being a BR EDH deck is good enough.

My other goal for this deck is to actually use my commander, and not just have it for the colors. I have a terrible habit of doing that, so I wanted to make sure I had a commander that was unique and begged me to play it when I could.

The answer was Olivia Voldaren. The Machine gun quality of the first ability is pretty nifty, and I love the flavor of a vampire biting someone, and if they survive they can be turned to the other side.

This deck is trying to be built around taking over other player's creatures, and Vampire tribal. Grave Betrayal, dark imposter , Fiend of the Shadows, Kalitas, Bloodchief of Ghet , and Praetor's Grasp all play into the first theme, while pretty much everything else contributes to the second. There's also a lot of life gain and things that trigger when you deal combat damage to a player, but they are almost incidental.

What I'm looking for is ways to make the deck play into those themes even more. I'm thinking of putting in an It That Betrays and things of the sort, but I'm squeamish about them not being vampires. I'm thinking Olivia can always turn them, and Mephidross Vampire makes the point moot, but maybe I should add in a Conspiracy if I want to go that route. Opinions of this are welcome.

I don't think I missed any vampire tribal synergies (other than Coat of Arms and stuff, which I'm thinking about, but I do figure there's more cool lifegain and combat damage shenanigans I could be doing. I purposefully didn't include the thing that's the inverse of Sanguine Bond to avoid that two card combo, but I don't know.

In the end, I'm indecisive about how much flavor should trump gameplay, and vice versa. The appeal of stealing opponents creatures is that the deck kind of scales to who I'm playing, and is never over or under powered, but I still want a good deck that does cool things.
