Seeing as My Pointy-Eared Dudes!, Lucky (Turn) 7! and Tute On, Son! are finally rotating out, I gotta start brewing with SOI and EMN cards. This is my first effort.
The basic idea of the deck is to use our discard outlets to control the early game, and dump our hand in order to maximise the power of Lupine Prototype and
Bloodhall Priest
.
The early payoff cards are our Madness cards (Fiery Temper,
Alms of the Vein
). Being able to discard these cards virtually 100% of the time, and cast them for their Madness cost basically turns these cards into
Lightning Bolt
and an even cheaper version of Lightning Helix, 2 of the most powerful burn spells in Magic.
I went back and forth as to what to do once we run out of cards as planned. I wanted to initially run with more copies of
Bloodhall Priest
, or a solid 4-drop like Chandra, Torch of Defiance in order to apply consistent pressure in the mid to late game...
...however,
Unlicensed Disintegration
is a card that is too powerful not to have in a deck like this. In addition to MechaWolf, I have succumbed to popular opinion and have added 3 Smuggler's Copter to have enough artifacts to switch on the second clause of Disintegration (which can also be crewed by literally any of our creatures, and also doubles as another discard outlet). I also went with Insolent Neonate as yet another way to discard for incredibly cheap.
