I haven't managed to do this for my other decks but as this one's a new build, I'll track its performance here as it plays games.
Game 1:
Win versus
Heliod, Sun-Crowned,
Garth One-Eye and
The Gitrog Monster.
Got very lucky with a turn 1
Exploration and a four land opening hand, allowing
Captain Sisay to be played on turn 2. Fought through a
Wrath of God from Heliod and somehow survived a
Torment of Hailfire for
from the Gitrog player (ouch!), which took out the other two players and turned the game into a 1v1. Tutored for
Stone of Erech with
Captain Sisay to exile their graveyard and followed up with
Urza's Ruinous Blast as a one-sided boardwipe. Had the infinite combo in hand and ready to play the next turn, causing them to scoop.
Thousand-Year Elixir was on the board for most of the game enabling two Sisay activations a turn, which helped make the difference.
Game 2:
Win versus
Atraxa, Praetors' Voice,
Garth One-Eye and
Sierra, Nuka's Biggest Fan.
Strange game against an Atraxa Superfriends list and a couple of theme decks. Had a slow start with just lands and eventually played
Captain Sisay on turn 4. Tutored for
Reidane, God of the Worthy
to tax the Superfriends player which ate removal soon after. Went for the combo with
Eladamri's Call and
Captain Sisay to find
Walking Ballista and
Heliod, Sun-Crowned but Ballista got hit by
Swords to Plowshares.
Atraxa, Praetors' Voice got to ultimate a couple of planeswalkers (
Vraska, Golgari Queen and
Dovin Baan) and had us potentially dead on board from an Atraxa attack with Vraska's emblem. Tutored for
The One Ring and watched
Sierra, Nuka's Biggest Fan swing in for lethal commander damage against Atraxa. Then drew into
Triskelion and combo'd for the win. Would've been dead to
Sierra, Nuka's Biggest Fan commander damage the next turn.
Game 3:
Win versus
Lathril, Blade of the Elves,
Kibo, Uktabi Prince and
Shelob, Child of Ungoliant.
A fairly straightforward win. Played a T5
Urza's Ruinous Blast to deal with a horde of Elves from
Lathril, Blade of the Elves but they rebuilt quickly and hit the board with a couple of Lathril activations. Drew into
Triskelion early so played a couple of ramp spells and tutored for
Heliod, Sun-Crowned with
Captain Sisay. Sisay was removed with
Shelob, Child of Ungoliant, giving them their own version to tutor for legends in their deck which was funny. Used
The One Ring to keep the table at bay and draw more cards, before tutoring for
Myrel, Shield of Argive with
Worldly Tutor to guard against artifact removal from the other three G/x decks. Played her before
Triskelion the following turn to protect the combo and win the game.
Game 4:
Loss versus
Heliod, Sun-Crowned,
Alela, Artful Provocateur and
Phelddagrif.
Ended up in a pod with two Stax decks (
Heliod, Sun-Crowned and
Alela, Artful Provocateur). Two opponents had played against us before and knew what to expect. Misery ensued as we were basically the archenemy. Did OK in the first few turns with some ramp, a
Heliod, Sun-Crowned of our own and
Thousand-Year Elixir to get double activations out of
Captain Sisay. Tried
Urza's Ruinous Blast to try and take out
Linvala, Keeper of Silence,
Archon of Emeria and some other Stax pieces but Heliod had
Teferi's Protection ready. Linvala basically shuts down our combo plan so tried to
Swords to Plowshares her but the
Phelddagrif player countered it. Then
Karn, the Great Creator hit the table and it was time to scoop. Anything that prevents activated abilities of creatures or artifacts is a big problem for us.
Game 5:
Win versus
Lord Windgrace,
Trostani, Selesnya's Voice and
Cadira, Caller of the Small.
Similar to Game 3, another majority green pod with minimal interaction which suited us perfectly. Fell behind in the early game despite a T3
Captain Sisay, as the Trostani and Cadira players made lots of tokens, while Windgrace ramped into a bunch of lands and a
Marit Lage token with
Thespian's Stage. Tutored for
The One Ring and hid behind it while
Lord Windgrace made the game-defining play of
Collective Voyage for 11, giving everyone 11 extra basic lands. That meant we had enough mana to play
Myrel, Shield of Argive,
Heliod, Sun-Crowned and
Triskelion all in the same turn, combo off and kill the other two Selesnya players. Windgrace was protected by two
Glacial Chasms but managed to remove them in our next turn with
Boseiju, Who Endures and
Generous Gift, and then combo again with Heliod and Triskelion. Another game where we were getting two
Captain Sisay activations a turn, this time with
Saryth, the Viper's Fang.
