Result of a Cube draft with friends using all common cards.
The sideboard was mainly the green/blue cards I did not want my two friends getting.
After round one I added in Fling, Spire Barage, and
Demolish
.
Running three colors with a small splash, I should have simply removed
Silver Myr
,
Steel Sabotage
, and Vapor Snag for the three red spells I added in for the second round.
My friends also drafted insanely interesting decks, one of which was a Blue/Green deck that had everything it needed to make use of elves and get lands out. Needless to say he won the first round. I was careless with my removal spells early on.
I was told I messed up on my mana, by having my mana be half of my deck. I still had hands where I wouldn't draw more than one mana though, and one with 5 mana. I tried to draft my cards to have a requirement of only 1 of its color type of mana and then anything colorless, but ended up with a few that required 2 of its color. That was mainly because I was trying to keep the good grave digging black creatures from my one friend.
Overall, I lacked any real hitters, and in the end I couldn't get the right mana out to do what I needed to in time, which was swamps, despite putting them as the majority of my lands. My friends infected me to death in the first game because I killed the first two creatures of my one friend when I should have focused on the elves deck. Yeah, I'm still learning, but was more concerned about a flier I had no defense against than a tap for mana elf that bites you later in the game when you realize there is a hoardof several creatures and you pissed off the one player who would have allied to take him down with you.
