Awww, you thought you got to have creatures? Cute.
Nope, they're all mine. And then I'm going to kill 'em, right in front of you. This is the worst deck I think I've ever come up with. Red's creature control spells (Act of Treason) mixed with black's self sacrifice (Altar's Reap,
Blood Bairn
) is just plain mean.
The free sac (
Blood Bairn
,
Corpse Blockade
) is key for early creature stealing action. I take your biggest creature, and although you MAY kill it in the ensuing combat, I want to make sure you aren't getting that guy back. I tried tymarut, the murder king but found he was just to costly. At least five mana for a capture/kill combo, probably six.
After a couple rounds of that they are sure to be getting aggravated, but they know you'll blow your hand soon enough. That's when Altar's Reap drops, after I've played Catch / Release on your newest favoritest minion. This can happen as early as turn five, but we probably won't need it yet.
My favorite addition to this deck was the idea of going grixis, adding blue for catch and
Soul Ransom
was exactly what it needed to really solidify. You want your creature back? Ok, discard two.... response. It's dead, actually.
If the constant aggression of your own troops turned on you isn't enough to win outright, I'll just sneak a Master of Cruelties through there and maybe sacrifice him to
Barrage of Expendables
afterward.
I'm thinking about ditching Dark Prophecy, although its really nice combining that with Tenacious Dead. Passive card draw is really nice on it's own. I just thought maybe some low cost removal might be a better bet. Mainboarding Dreadbore and Duress/Thoughtseize would get this accomplished and add some early game chaos.
Let me know what you think!
