Based on an old standard deck I had back in Innistrad/RTR days, unsurprisingly called "Dan Brown," based around Angels and Demons. Because Dan Brown had a book called "Angels & Demons" that was really popular around then. Did I really have to spell that out for anyone?

Anyway, here's the first draft at an EDH version, led by Selenia, Dark Angel for flavor reasons. Just grabbed a pile of rares out of my binders, and will certainly need a lot of refinement, but here we go...

Oh, and one more thing: There is a really stupid dream in the deck that I realized I could potentially bring to life, with enough tutoring and stupid luck: Starfield of Nyx + Demonic Pact + Conjurer's Closet = silly recurring Demonic Pact shenanigans. Right now I need a lot more enchantments to make that work, but I don't have cards like Holy Strength and Unholy Strength which I know I have and fit the theme in the list yet, so I know my list of enchantments will grow. Gift of Orzhova is another one that comes to mind.

After finally getting a chance to play some EDH for the first time in a couple months, I noticed I wasn't particularly excited to play this deck, even though the idiotic dream of Demonic Pact + Starfield of Nyx + Conjurer's Closet is most definitely still alive, and I plan on keeping it alive in this deck. If for no other reason than Demonic Pact fits the flavor of "Angels & Demons" pretty darn well.

So I was inspired to tweak a few of my decks over the weekend, and I realized something about this deck: Although black and white provide some of the best spot and mass removal in the game, most cards like Terror, Doom Blade, Hero's Downfall etc. definitely fit the flavor of "Angels & Demons" quite well, these were also cards that were not playing to the emerging "enchantments matter" subtheme I'm going for with the idiotic dream. Then I remembered I also have access to enchantment-based removal spells like Oblivion Ring, Martial Law, Banishing Light, etc.

So now that's how this deck plans on dealing with specific threats on the table, and I'm quite excited to try it out again. I've kept Demonic Tutor and Increasing Ambition in as 2 additional cards that can help me get my idiotic combo out on the battlefield, but as a rule I'm not a fan of tutoring in EDH so I very well may take those out for 2 more bits of enchantment silliness. Or maybe an Angel of Serenity or something...

Also very seriously under consideration: For full flavor and embracing a theme of "Fate," it seems like either Athreos, God of Passage or Triad of Fates would be a better commander. The question is, which one...?
