Dark as the pits of hell

Standard Mono-Black

1dvsbstd

Why do I insist on designing mono-color decks after a multicolor set? I don't want to buy and damn engagement ring for my mana base, that's why.

This time, i'm going monoblack control. seems pretty obvious, clear out their hand with Drainpipe Vermin and Black Cat, all the while clearing their field with all of the juicy removal and board clearing (see instants and sorceries)

Stab Wound, Blood Artist, Bloodgift Demon, and Desecration Demon can all smack the opponent for some damage, Killing Wave can also force some damage only to kill off the creatures which they saved with other removal later.

Bloodgift Demon, Underworld Connections, and Sign in Blood keep my hand chock-full of death. they cost me some life, but with blood artist gaining me life, and nothing on their side living to hit me, I can survive it.

This deck is by no means perfect, and it's yearning for something at the power level of Sorin's Vengance which has just left standard, but it seems pretty good.

Any -constructive- criticism is welcome, I would love to get help with improving this concept, but I want to keep the monocolorness and the budget aspect. don't throw blood crypt and dreadbore at me as an option, I'm not looking to quadruple the cost of the deck or complicate the mana base.
