A fairly standard G/U deck. I wanted to try out the control aspect of
Simic Manipulator
and other fun cards like
Polymorphist's Jest
and Turn to Frog. The Evolve mechanic of most of the creatures should take care of any aggro that slips through control spells allowing for Simic Manipulator to take control of opponent creatures and turn them against their former casters. Any and all advice would be much appreciated, I would like to make this as good a deck as possible while keeping it as quirky and fun as possible :D
Simic Manipulator
: The main creature behind the control aspect of this deck. Taking control of any major threats and turning them against their enemies as well as taking advantage of
Polymorphist's Jest
, Swan Song and Turn to Frog, taking enemy creatures and making them your own.
Cloudfin Raptor: Awesome evolve card with generally hard to manage flying damage. Also works as a counter generator for Bioshift
+
Simic Manipulator
Elusive Krasis
: Unblockable evolve damage? Hell yes! Also being a G/U card
Favor of the Overbeing
makes it a nasty creature w/ +2/+2 flying/vigilance/unblockable.
Kiora's Follower: Basic creature that can buff evolve creatures early game, however, would mostly be used to untap Simic Manipulator in a situation where multiple creatures have been turned to frogs with
Polymorphist's Jest
.
Vorel of the Hull Clade: This card's converted mana cost surprised me for its ability. His toughness will also be able to pump evolve creatures even after they have already been buffed a couple of times. Doubling +1/+1 counters isn't half-bad either, I guess..
Polymorphist's Jest
: Helpful when your opponent has a few creatures out of
Simic Manipulator
's reach. Also can change the direction of a game in a single turn regardless of Simic Manipulator.
Swan Song: Keeps out unwanted or unbearable burn damage, enchantments/enchantment creatures/gods, other control and whatever else. With
Favor of the Overbeing
granting flying and
Simic Manipulator
a 2/2 flying goose isn't a big deal either.
