Welcome to Sunbear Prison! Where you'll be Silenced FOREVER!
The amount of hatred necessary to play this deck is staggering...
You will either lose friends with the mind-numbing interactions, or have them slowly build animosity towards you from the continuous Silence during both our turns. Not-to-mention taxing their every opportunity to remove a Sunbear or an enchantment.
Evil Right?..."I reject your reality and substitute my own."
So everyone knows , and . Well, I Pondered on how you could combine the three in an even split in . I found that if I went too heavy on any of the core elements of all three methods I was left vulnerable to many strategies. Too much Pillowfort left me with no means of winning or having games go to time. A ZOO of left me vulnerable to removal, and very limited choices in . Then finally having too much taxation left me in a bored state of "drool-monkey" like proportions. Where controlling the whole game but not actually doing anything was my means of playing. + = Fish
To combat all this I decided that all I needed was a strong method of handling the most fierce and lethal decks out there. Be it , , , , and even pesky players. I know there may be a few archetypes I left out, but it's Modern and people will play almost anything. Sigh, damn Slippery Bogles I hate you!
Elspeth, Sun's Champion bringing the late-game brutality!
Elspeth, Sun's Champion singing the chorus of one of my favorite songs is what inspired me to make this deck.
+1 gives me a means to defend myself in case all my die.
-3 is surprising efficient for wrathing big creatures.
-7 is a powerhouse ultimate that surely pushes the win in my favor.
"The dawn of Heliod's justice!"
Sun Titan, effortlessly returning cards from the graveyard since M11!
Sun Titan is the backbone that keeps the whole deck upright. If Elspeth isn't drawn or gets killed then I need other means of winning besides buffed up . He puts in work and returns 75% of my deck from the graveyard. #Value
Mirran Crusader is my Knight of the Realm and keeps me protected from most scary creatures. Elves are especially vulnerable to this champion. He is versatile too by allowing me to be aggressive while the prison is being constructed.
Grand Abolisher holds the utility slot via continuing the Silence theme within the deck but stops EVERYTHING my turn.
"Your superstitions and mumblings are useless chaff before my righteousness."
Kambal, Consul of Allocation has taken a major role within the deeper aspects of my deck even though he's somewhat a non-bo. His ability to hold back most players from wanting to continue to cast spells (Sub-theme of silencing opponent achieved) is fantastic! Storm, combo and control players will have their eyes glaze over in disgust, and I will just laugh at the free life recovery...LOL! Thought my was just for random extorts--no I have this little surprise!
"He has "friends" in places both high and low, and all seem to owe him favors."
Finally get Sun Titan out and then Extort your way to victory every spell thanks to from Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx. This is a fabulous way to slowly drain your opponent, and puts a big grin on my face when I use Temple of Silences.
Runed Halo is the keystone to self-protection whenever Leyline isn't main-board.
Oblivion Ring The "Swiss-army-knife" of removal and protection spells. Generate infinite loops to permanently exile a non-land, or in very fringe situations use it to enchant your own permanent to avoid Demonic Pact shenanigans.
Archangel of Tithes as my singleton Angel of light. She hits Devotion beautifully, and supplies me with Elspeth protection, while all along upgrading the Sun Prison to MAXIMUM SECURITY!
Imprinting shenanigans are plentiful so take your pick!
The Scepter focuses on locking down the opponent with free instant spells to cause chaos.
The Sun Spear is for hating back when a bear gets killed or for letting in a bruiser to be to be vanquished after combat. When everything resolves ZAP! the creature that hit you with Heliod, God of the Sun's sunbeam. Combine that with a creature-wide anthem and you're golden!
0-2 Elves: This dude just flooded the board with elves upon elves upon elves. Gilt-Leaf Archdruid being the standout card that wrecked me. Also he had co-co...even though I managed to Scepter a
Hallowed Moonlight
. He basically teased me with it...and I didn't even bother to take the free card draw...many lessons learned!
Match
0-2 Bant Eldrazi: Dude resolved his Elspeth before me, and Reality Smasherd my face before I could drop Sun Titan to stabilize. Also he got me with a sideboarded Krosan Grip to take out my prison game two.
If you have any suggestions or want to leave a comment feel free. I'm still getting back into Magic, and I would gladly take any advice yall have to offer. This deck has become my signature, so I treat it like my baby!

Thank you for taking the time to check out my little page and enjoy the music! Happy Hunting!
The card draw is nice, but in my testing and in friendly play--search locking is much more brutal!
The Kitty Hate King is a perfect addition to add in more actual Hatebears. He's another attacking creature which helps push for an earlier finish. Finally the anti-search makes my Path To Exiles that much better!
