Sideboard

Let's face facts: Demonic Pact is undeniably a risky Magic card. If you do nothing, you lose the game a few turns after you cast it. But if you can get rid of it somehow...

Some key ways to get the ability to not trigger involve sacing Pact to Angelic Purge, bouncing with Disperse or Silumgar's Command , or even having Pact deal itself the 4 damage with Starfield of Nyx online. In desperation, Anguished Unmaking can be cast on it, but that's a truly dire situation. My personal favorite is Purge, as it's an additional cost, so it's still sacced even if the spell is countered.

Also, the deck is a strong control shell, and is easily capable of winning without Pact. The main wincon in these situations is Shambling Vent and 2-for-1ing with Silumgar's Command . Also, getting Starfield online often creates an easy win, and Sorin or Ob can close out the game quickly.

In game 2, Blood-Cursed Knight s often come in, as opponents often board out removal in this match up.

Some key synergies: Wasteland Strangler can empty Silkwrap s and Stasis Snares, allowing them to be sacrificed with Angelic Purge without them getting their creature back, and reanimated with Starfield of Nyx. 2 Oath of Jace and Starfield of Nyx creates a loop, getting to draw 3 and discard 2 every upkeep in addition to the normal draw, which creates near unbeatable card advantage.
