Sideboard

Land (4)

Sorcery (4)

Fairly straightforward infect deck.

After some semblance of a board presence is attained, the goal is to artificially pump up our diseased weenies and attack. Between flyers and trample-enhanced creatures, poison damage will invariably be inflicted.

Remember, 10 poison counters and your opponent becomes naught but nourishment for the necrophagous—so keep the pressure on!

Invigorate induces saltiness since the benefit of life gain becomes a slap in the face, rendered utterly irrelevant against an infect deck.

Apostle's Blessing works wonders after blockers are declared; simply give your opponent’s blocker assigned to your most contagious attacker protection from said attacker’s color.

Unspeakable Symbol is a nice finisher. When an opening presents itself, before damage goes through just siphon off your life total to buff your contaminated critter to lethal proportions.

While easily outclassed by other archetypes, infect has its place. It can be most enjoyable to force the opposing player to completely alter the tempo they were prepared to play at; accumulating 10 poison counters can (and frequently does) happen considerably faster than losing 20 life. Especially when removing or preventing counters is something one generally has to plan for, as opposed to recovering life points which is an incidental bonus of many cards in the format.

As always, any insightful suggestions or input is greatly appreciated. Just keep them on theme if possible, I’m not looking to radically alter the core mechanic or structure of the deck.

...will cause the disease to cling to you, until He has exterminated you from the land...
