Standard Mono-Black Devotion deck.

[many changes since first putting this together]

Some light control with Duress / Thoughtseize; Doom Blade; Ultimate Price ; Hero's Downfall.

This deck focuses most on life-gain and taking advantage of Sanguine Bond.

I recently got some Pack Rat, so I'm going to try it out with that. Also recently got Erebos, God of the Dead. I think most players consider that a sideboard card. It offers some more card-draw . .

Inspired by Sanguine Gary ( 3 Weeks Straight top 3@FNM ), I put in 2x Sanguine Bond and took out some creatures to really focus on the drain-life effects.

Changes:

-1 Nightmare

-2 Thrull Parasite

-2 Deathcult Rogue

+1 Rescue from the Underworld

+2 Sanguine Bond

+1 Gray Merchant of Asphodel

+1 Quag Sickness

I'm hoping that if I can slow my opponent down enough with hand disruption and removal in the early-to-midgame and enjoy a little life-gain cushion along the way, then I can get Sanguine Bond out and start busting moves with Whip of Erebos, Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Rescue from the Underworld, and Corrupt.

I don't have the Bogbrew Witch, Festering Newt, Bubbling Cauldron thing going on, but have Duress and Thoughtseize to remove things before they hit the field in the first place, I'm also less 1 Desecration Demon and Liliana of the Dark Realms. I hope to get a couple more of those soon.
