Looking to build a semi-competitive Modern deck. This is my first foray into serious Modern deck building. I think this could win some games, but I am woefully unaware of how the Modern format truly functions.

Looking for any and all advice. This deck is seeking to control the board state through removal and mild hand attack in order to get out creatures such as Phyrexian Obliterator and Kalitas. The drain effect of Gray Merchant is good for life gain and putting the opponent low, or just outright winning the game. Also interested in figuring out a sideboard, but I imagine that's more my local meta based than anything.

Help me out! Looking for suggestions before I commit to acquiring the deck!

A final note: I am wanting to stay relatively budget with this, hence the lack of LotV, Bob, and other staples.
