Pyxis of Pandemonium you ask? Alright, hear me out. What are the two things the Pyxis does?

  1. Kills your opponents opportunities by exiling the top of their deck

  2. Brings you back a power house to face them with

Yes, the Pyxis summons for your opponent too, but I've got the counter measures for that. There are 3 ways to fin with this deck.

  1. Mill - I've gotten 3 Pyxis of Pandemonium out with this deck by turn 2, and went way off my land. however, I was exiling the top 3 cards of my opponents library every turn, face down. He had no idea what I was taking away and I just set up a wall and let him run out of cards. 60 card deck - initial 7 card hand = 53 cards. Assuming 1 draw and 3 exiles every turn, and I've got him down in 14 turns, and that's if I don't get any of my Returned Centaur out to mill the top 4.

  2. Devotion summoning - Your typical mono-black devotion. Gray Merchant of Asphodel for damage and life gain, Disciple of Phenax to remove opportunities, Mogis's Marauder to give my creatures an unblockable hit. This can be combined with or without the Pyxis if needed, but we'll get to that in a second.

  3. Pyxis Mass Summons - This is the main Pyxis strategy. Exile a tonne of cards, and bring them all in with Enter the Battlefield effects to decimate any chance an opponent has of winning. 17 of my creatures have ETB effects, ranging from life gain to hand destruction to milling to life lose, to drawing cards, O will have EVERY advantage. Even if I don't get any Merchants, I can still make sure my opponent has no cards in his hand, or less cards to choose from or summon an army of 1/1 flyers with a 6/6 out there, and as I only have about 4 cards in this deck that aren't permanents, I've got the leg up when the pyxis brings everything back. The idea is to devastate them so much that it's doesn't matter what creatures they get out of it.

Even if I don't use the Pyxis to bring everything in at once, It's easy to remove all the chances your opponent has of every getting a leg up. With a few insurance policies like Archetype of finality to make sure my creatures can match blow for blow with anything.

The problem I have is the filler cards. The chumps that defend me while I set this us. Felhide Minotaur, Felhide Brawler, Returned Phalanx, and Insatiable Harpy. I feel like there's better out there in Standard right now that works better with this, and I need a few suggestions. I want to try and remain in the Theros Block to keep this in standard as long as possible.
