Sideboard

I will soon have about 80% of all the cards in this deck. Hopefully it will be finished soon.

Read a runthrough with this deck in Spootytone's article here:

The ability to have a turn 2 Worldspine Wurm? I think so.

Breakdown:

Turn 1: Forest and Elvish Mystic

Turn 2: Tap Forest and Elvish Mystic into 3x Burning-Tree Emissary . Play Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, use 2 floating mana for second ability. Drop Garruk, Caller of Beasts, -3, Worldspine Wurm. GG?

Since that is only in very ideal situations, there are other things that can help in the meantime.

Nylea, God of the Hunt-Easy to turn on with the cards in this deck, and can be a huge threat giving other things trample and the ability to pump.

Polukranos, World Eater -with all the extra mana coming from Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, he can become gigantic and absolutely destroy your opponents field.

Into the Wilds -Not a bad ramp, but not good enough to run more than one of.

Skylasher -Blue hate, comes out of Burning-Tree Emissary . More of a temp until I find Scavenging Ooze, but is actually a decent card for what it is and does.

Mistcutter Hydra-During playtesting, I was able to get him to a 149/149 on turn 7, so will be great fun between Haste and when I can get Nylea on the field.

Sideboard:

Bramblecrush-A green card that I like a lot. It may not solve the creature problems. There are lots on popular Planeswalkers in the set though, and it is great green removal. It also gets rid of any Nykthos's your opponents might have, it has more use than some people think.

Arbor Colossus -When your opponent takes to the skies, no worries. With this much ramp, this guy can be big fast and the skies will be locked down.

Mistcutter Hydra-Locked down from control more than you would like? Throw a couple more of these guys in there to get past those pesky counter-spells

Clan Defiance -Another great card to sink mana into when you need it. And don't worry, there's red mama coming from B-T-E and Caryatid.

Golgari Charm-Good to help with those pesky board wipes.

Ratchet Bomb-For all of your explosive needs.

Witchstalker-Hexproof can go a long way and those counters can add up in certain situations.

FNM went well for the most part even though I ended up going 3-2 and placed 6th out of 17.

Match 1-Naya? It was very difficult to tell what kind of deck my opponent was running, but it was fairly easy to outrace and beat. 2-0

Match 2-MRD. This match worried me a bit because this was one of the deck lists I knew could be troublesome to play against. However, while my opponent was able to do a lot of damage in the early game, I was always able to stabilize and defend until one of my big baddies came out. He was able to beat me once when he Act of Treason'd my Worldspine Wurm. 2-1

Match 3-Mirror Match. Opponent ran a little bit more of a Gruul devotion, but in the end my deck just ran better and more efficiently. 2-0

Match 4-Boros Burn. Gosh this deck was fast. Between Ash Zealots, Boros Charms, and Spark Troopers, I just couldn't seem to keep up. I barely won one game by getting a Worldspine Wurm and 27/27 Mistcutter Hydra. 1-2

Match 5-MBD. Probably the deck I was most worried about going against. Lifebane Zombie and Thoughtseize kept anything good I drew out of my hand and I was never really able to get a threat on my field while he built up with Pack Rats and Nightveil Specters until he finally Gray Merchant of Asphodeled. I didn't really stand a chance, which is sad because I was in 2nd place until this match. 0-2

Hopefully I'll be able to fix this deck and take it back out sometime soon.
