Thought I would try a new deck idea based on my old mono-black control deck. This time we're acting like we are kind of like a Rakdos deck with strong discard and Shrieking Affliction. Some light creature removal to try and keep things manageable. Corrupt is in there to try to swing tough games back into my favor if I need the life, or if I need a win condition. Nothing too much that is new here except for Undercity Plague and a reliance on Liliana's Reaver - a creature that I had consistently gotten rid of in my control decks before now. He was too easily removed from the game, but this time I want to work with this deck to protect the reaver and make sure he connects.

We all might need less discard cards in our control decks if we had something like Mind Sludge. Rakdos's Return was a pretty awesome card for that too, and could easily bring you into the range of Shrieking Affliction. But it looks like mono-black has to pick of one or two cards at a time until you've routed them - making us less reliant on spot removal. I'm also hoping Lifebane Zombie can shore up our discard fort from early creatures.
