Intro

This is a Talrand Deck that focuses on two major themes. The first is counter-spells. We can't counter everything at the table, but with enough interaction, we can hopefully prolong other's game plan. The next is the sweet Polymorph package. 4 mana to tutor Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur to the battlefield sounds pretty good to me.

Game Plan

The game plan here is pretty simple. Play Talrand, counter threats, and peck them with a bunch of birds. Polymorph your birds to bring out a one of your big threats. Some tips, you hardly ever want to draw your creatures. When scrying send them to the bottom. It is not always best to play Talrand the moment you can. Try to play him with a counter up if you can.

Upgrades

If I had the finances to upgrade the deck, I would lean into better card draw such as Rhystic Study, better polymorph targets such as the Blightsteel Colossus, and substitute for the better counter-spells like Mana Drain.
