The idea behind this variant is that 8rack is terrible at dealing with top decks. Funeral charm is the way it deals with it sometimes but on its own isn't the best card because the opponent chooses so normal 8rack builds only use a couple and focus more on IoK and Thoughtseize. Problem is those cards are awful topdecks when your opponent is also empty handed or is sandbagging lands.

I tried to figure out what the best way to deal with the top of the deck would be and I found piracy charm and went full on into a UB variant. Adding blue to the deck allowed me to use Snapcaster mages which are amazing with Funeral/Piracy charm on your opponents draw step, and because blue allowed me to play Disperse, Thoughtseize and IoK because even more powerful because I can disperse a resolved permanent and get rid of it that way.

Blue also opened up the opportunity for Spell Snare, an amazing counter in Modern, as well as Countersquall. I haven't had the opportunity to test it but goldfishing with it on tappedout has shown very good consistency. Sideboard still needs some work, I'm thinking I'm going to need some GY hate outside of Surgical.
