All about the Ninjas.

The main tech you have to understand is that all the ninjas have an ability called Ninjutsu that works a like an alternate casting cost. so you pay the ninjutsu cost after blockers have been declared and replace a creature that wasnt blocked with a ninja, and now its too late to block the ninja. This is technically an ability and not a spell so it can't be countered. AND... all the non-ninja creatures in the deck (their presence in the deck is essential) are either Unblockable or Flying. So this makes it very hard for your opponent to stop you from dealing them ninja damage and bringing in your ninjas for cheap. Here's an example turn: attack with Tormented Soul, pay 1 blue return him to your hand and drop Mistblade Shinobi for some annoying removal, in your second main phase pay 1 black and return Tormented Soul to the battlefield for next turn's ninja. plus, the unblockables can really eat away at life points on their own.

The ninja's in this deck and sideboard are basically all of the viable ninja's that were ever printed, there aren't many. I learned from other people's ninja builds, and a lot of play testing lol, that you need to keep the balance of "Ninja-Helpers" (don't have less than 8, and that's pushing it) and then fill in the blanks with Ninjas for about 20-22 creatures overall. You're gonna really want the full playset of the Mistblade and Higure, the Still Wind is your main man so don't leave him out of the party. Using him to make Ink-Eyes, Servant of Oni unblockable every turn is a really nasty combo.

This deck doesn't come only from me btw, I did a lot of research and then tuned it up to fit my preferences. I've also thrown in Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver because he's fun and mean.

Update: Just tuned this deck up out of legacy and fully modern legal!
