Dimir Storm 2.0

Pauper EDH* Storm

Undisturbed this deck goes off consistently on turn 5, and it’s not completely unreasonable to go off turn 4. It is primarily a High Tide combo deck, so we are playing as few black cards as possible to up our island count for strong high tide turns. It’s extremey important to have access to one black mana however, to cast Disciple of Deceit on turn 2 or 3 so we can set up our combo. All suggestions are welcome, and if you have any questions feel free to ask!

The deck was built to be consistent. Many of the cards in this deck were chosen for there CMC, to be able to tutor for our combo pieces as needed, but also still have relevant effects. A hyper geometric calculator was used to find the perfect numbers so we can always have the right CMC’s in our hand to combo off.
Why so many bounce spells? When you look at the list you will see lots of draw spells, and Bounce spells. The draw spells serve an obvious purpose. The bounce spell however, may seem a little odd. They can be used defensively to screw up other decks, but they are meant to double as “rituals” on the combo turn. Unsummon on Peregrine Drake post High Tide, nets 4 mana. This will allow us to continue combining when we start running out of mana, and can be the make or break of weather or not we can keep going.
  • If you’re running low on mana, Snap and Snapback are great Tutor targets to bounce The drake or cloud of faeries to keep going

  • Conjurer's Bauble can be used to shuffle High Tide back into the deck, and double up on the effect.

  • Banishing Knack and Retraction Helix both go infinite on the high tide turn, and can also be used to get rid of troublesome permanents.

  • Echoing Truth can be used on Feed from the Real to put on Sphinx's Disciple to draw through the whole deck.

  • Mental Discipline can cycle through your deck with infinite mana if you don’t already have a way to win which happens occasionally, but can also be used to set up your hand in case there’s something you still need to transmute for.

  • If you’re planning on playing the long game Rhystic Study is a great tutor target, to gain value off of.

  • Blessing of Leeches offers protection against removal, and Duress can be used to strip an opponent of their countermagic if needed.

  • Bounce Spells can be used to push through an initial attacking with Disciple of Deceit if our opponents block.

I play storm across every format, I really love the archetype. So when some buddies of mine and I started playing PDH, I knew I wanted to make Storm work. The deck was mostly made for fun, but I think it has strong potential to be a truly powerful deck.
