I do my best thinking on the toilet. For example, that's when I thought "Why don't we blow up tornadoes?" Anyway, that's when it occoured to me that while Door of Destinies dosen't proc on tokens entering the battlefield, it DOES boost said tokens, provided they are the right type. On this fated morning, I realized The potential of combining Bird tokens, one of the easiest tokens to get out in #'s with DoD and Bird Creature Cards. Why stop there?, I thought. What if in case you didn't get a DoD by Turn 4, you had a Biomass Mutation handy to double, triple, or even quadruple the strength of your un-charged bird tokens? So, Thanks to my toilet, my royal throne, my think tank, you have the pleasure of experiencing this deck inspired by Porcelain Patty.
But seriously, Please Playtest and Review. I really think this deck is my best homebrew yet, but I have no way of knowing until I get my DoD's in the mail. Also, my best homebrew dosen't have to be very good, just saying.
Card Breakdown-
Creatures
Judge's Familiar This is an excellent one-drop that can stop that early
Shrivel
(The bane of this deck, save Illness in the Ranks)
Eyes in the Skies
Now one of the bigger problems with this card is that it dosen't play nice with the other numerous 4-drops in this deck, but it is a must have for the playstyle. 2 creatures as instants for 4 mana is good, but the key here is the population potential.
Seller of Songbirds
gives you a bird. I would kill for a 1/1 bird token for 1 mana, but it seems all token equivalents must be cheaper. Darnit
Suntail Hawk
Suntail Hawk
1 drop for +1/+1 to all birds, when I have a Door of Destinies out.
Skymark Roc
SUCK IT, Abhorrent Overlord. Again, a bird.
Warden of Evos Isle
Not as useful as could be for it's ability, but again, a bird.
Artifacts, Instants, and Sorceries
Rootborn Defenses Protects against most boardwipes, but again, not
Shrivel
or Illness in the Ranks Populate is an excellent bonus
Sundering Growth Absolutely mandatory for Illness in the Ranks again, populate
Door of Destinies The focus of this deck, not much else to be said.
Growing Ranks 1, 2, or even 3 extra birds a turn = legit.
Biomass Mutation
Now for the elephant in the room. The problem with this card is that it defeats the purpouse of the entire deck. Yes. You heard me right. there is NO reason to have this card in the deck. Except for the fact that not every draw is ideal, and it's good to have backups.
