Dragonlord Silumgar Expropriates

Commander / EDH Casual Control Theme/Gimmick UB (Dimir)

This deck is extremely fun to play! And also really strong and annoying. The deck depends on what your opponents are playing. You basically play with everyone's deck, and that annoys people way too much.

Cards that Use Other People's Cards from Deck/Graveyard: Acquire, Animate Dead, Beacon of Unrest, Dance of the Dead, Gonti, Lord of Luxury, Grave Betrayal, Memory Plunder, Mind's Dilation, Praetor's Grasp, Puppeteer Clique, Sepulchral Primordial, Thada Adel, Acquisitor and The Scarab God.

The Scarab God could very well be this deck's commander, but it takes a while to get it going and it's obviously really strong. People will come at you to prevent the god to do more damage, and as a part of the 99 it is almost like a second commander that keeps coming back. Also Silumgar is just fun. Grave Betrayal, Beacon of Unrest, Dance of the Dead, Animate Dead, Sepulchral Primordial and Puppeteer Clique do the same job as the god, so there's a lot of reanimation going on.

Memory Plunder lets you cast sorceries as instants from graveyards as well, so it's a very good card.

Gonti, Lord of Luxury is amazing, sometimes even being able to take a lot of cards from players when the planets align. Thada Adel, Acquisitor does something similar too, and no one expects this card. It's fun to have 4 Sol Ring at the same time, too. Acquire is the spell version of her ability, while Praetor's Grasp is similar to Gonti's, but you get to look at the entire deck.

Mind's Dilation is probably the most fun card in this deck, while your opponents will be afraid to play anything. It is one of my all time favorite cards in magic now, it just does so much. Sometimes it gets destroyed, but the risk is there anyway. :)

Cards that Steal: Dragonlord Silumgar, Aethersnatch, Blatant Thievery, Desertion, Domineering Will, Expropriate, Kefnet's Last Word, Notion Thief, Reins of Power and Exsanguinate.

Just like the commander himself, Blatant Thievery does almost the same, but for each opponent, and any permanent. Kefnet's Last Word sure is risky, but stealing a Zendikar Resurgent has to be worth it. Reins of Power is like a mini Insurrection most of the time, and is just so good to mess with combat, the same is true for Domineering Will, no one expects them.

Desertion and Aethersnatch do practically the same, really good cards to counter commanders and put them under your control. Exsanguinate steals life, while refilling yours, and Notion Thief is a blow-out for people that love drawing cards.

Expropriate has to be the strongest card in the entire deck, it simply is an "I win" card. Even if you take a single turn, it's probably all you need after you take the best permanent for each opponent as well. Insanely strong, so be ready to back it up with a counter if needed.

Cards that Clone: Clever Impersonator, Faerie Artisans, Mirage Mirror, Phyrexian Metamorph and Stunt Double.

I'm torn between Clever Impersonator and Mirage Mirror as the best clone effect, specially since Mirror lets you change target every single turn, and could also be lands, unlike Impersonator with non-land permanents, but not needing to pay mana to clone is also really good, and is a creature that you can reanimate and clone something else. So they're both really good. Phyrexian Metamorph and Stunt Double are tied for second to me as well. One costs a mana more, but has flash, which is really helpful, and the other can clone artifacts as well. Faerie Artisans is also really good, cloning every single creature your opponents play is just disgusting, but they can deal with them easily before any cloning happens.

Other Interesting Cards: Sire of Stagnation, Haven of the Spirit Dragon, Silumgar's Command, Void Shatter and other exile counters.

Sire of Stagnation is a creature that if you manage to play it early, it is simply so good. Serves like a cheap and stealing-like Consecrated Sphinx most of the time, or just makes sure your opponents stay behind by not playing lands in order to not to give you cards, either way is perfect for us.

Most of the time Ugin, the Spirit Dragon will have to come down to wipe away the board, dying in the process. Haven of the Spirit Dragon not only helps you to have your colors for Silumgar, but also lets you return Ugin after it's been sent to the graveyard for one more round. :)

After playing for so many years now of commander, I've learned to be grateful to the exile counters. In a perfect world, a simple Negate or Counterspell should be enough to send something to oblivion forever, but EDH is also a game of recursion, and Eternal Witness is everywhere. Counters like Dissipate are perfect to make sure what you counter never comes back to bite you.

And finally Silumgar's Command is just great for any of the options. :)
