Got the idea for this deck while holding Dragonmaster Outcast and Kiora, Master of the Depths. Am proud to admit I was looking at her tits to be specific, and I was thinking "Damn, I want to make a deck with her". The deck had been on my mind the last week and 30 minutes before FNM I threw together something similar to this deck and it worked surprisingly well. When I got home I refined the deck and this is the result.
Mainboard
Jace, Vryn's Prodigy
Does not need an explanation. Great card and if you're playing blue, you play Jace.
Dragonmaster Outcast I see a lot of decks playing this card, especially Jeskai decks. They play it with their 6th land drop and if it's removed, they use
Ojutai's Command
to get it back, but they play no more than 1 or 2 in their decks. We play 4, and we play it whenever we want.
The -2 ability on Kiora, Master of the Depths is why we want her. Putting stuff in our graveyard (which we can get back with Den Protector if needed) for our Dig Through Time or our Jace's -3. She has great synergy with all the cards mentioned here, but do not play to keep her on the battlefield. I usually go -2 first and -2 the next turn if able, killing her. By then we have everything we want in our hand and in the graveyard.
Jaddi Offshoot Great against aggro and gets better the longer it survives. Edit: Replaced Jaddi Offshoot with Hangarback Walker. While the card is good in some situations (and works well in our deck), it's just worse than Hangarback Walker.
Savage Knuckleblade
Is Temur's answer to the Abzan Siege Rhino and the Jeskai Mantis Rider. It's great, enough said. Was trying Bounding Krasis as a replacement for some extra fun with jace, but knuckleblade was just strictly better.
I started using Spell Shrivel instead of Scatter to the Winds, and it's good in many matchups, except for control, where it's horrible. Keeping 1 in sideboard for now.
The Lands
The Landbase is still pretty shaky and probably needs some fixing. The biggest problem being that I can't fetch islands. Thinking about splashing black or just adding Polluted Delta,but the deck is already expensive enough as it is.
