Hello, this is my high power malcolm the alluring scoundrel aka the less used malcolm. its a control deck that tries to cheap in Enter the Infinite to win the game. You can use enter the infinite into a thassa's oracle or in this case Viseling + Tale of the Ancestors which is a two card combo, higher cmc but also cheaper than a $30 thassa. the deck works well with its graveyard and has answers for nearly everything. if theres nothing to counter, instant speed poliferates like Clockspinning, Reject Imperfection, and experimental augory help speed up malcolm.

opening hand only requires 2 islands for the commander. t1 is an island, t2 is another island, and before t3 flash out malcolm as this is when it is least likely to get blown up. hit whoever doesnt have fliers/reach and then hold up your mana to protect malcolm. knowing your pod is essential, because some of the poliferates that make malcolm go faster are not instant speed and you'll have to figure out if you need to hold up mana for counterspells or not. malcolm is pretty fragile but and throwing something like Robe of Mirrors or Lightning Greaves is always worth it despite not being able to poliferate on yourself. you only need 3 counters by the time it reaches your turn and malcolm should start with 1 counter because he is flashed in before your 3rd turn so there is no SS. if you have clockspinning, it can really speed up the process. even casting clock spinning twice, once with buyback and once without will get you up to 3 counters after the first turn getting malcolm online before combat and you can put the fourth counter on him. there are some cards in the side board that i am waiting on to arrive in the mail, mostly blue staples with poliferate attached to them. you will cycle through your deck a lot faster with malcolm, and the key is to hold up card advantage and knowing what to counter. a general rule of thumb is to save counters for those coming at malcolm because he gets you cards and also cheats stuff in, and also obviously game winning cards.

replace throne of geth with reject imperfection protective bubble might be a bit much, maybe change for a counterspell? like swan song?

flood of recollection is 2 cmc but gets exiled so only has a single use. something like relearn is 3 cmc but doesn't get exiled. there is a little graveyard reanimation i dont know if relearn > flood of recollection. for now flood is better due to the 2 cmc but alos 4 island -> enter the infinite combo.

change impulse for experimental augory might remove mystic remora because it only sticks around for one round before being sac-ed and otherwise its a dead draw. maybe replace with a counterspell or removal

change fog bank for propaganda?

ETI --> viseling --> tales of the ancestors to win --> beware of people drawing thassa's oracle (be ready to swan song)

thassa's oracle is objectively much better and less of a dead draw but its expensive and i dont want to buy one remove mind's dilation. its a funny but not very useful card

fuel for the cause is a bit pricey at 4 cmc. yes i get poliferate but theres cheaper stuff yet to be added that can poliferate such as mesmerizing doze

snap is really good because u can snap a thassa's oracle while casting it again

test snap vs snapback

if aminmatou's augury somehow hits both ETI and tales of the ancestors then one will have to be exiled and do not have another wincon. i guess going for infinite turns with nexus of the fate would be the backup plan and remove stuff until i can finish with combat
