This is a modern deck built around Pyromancer Ascension my second stab at izzet creatureless I built this as a casual deck but when some of my friends were trying out modern I went through the decks I already had to see if I had anything close. This deck was close enough so I made sure all the non modern cards were out while still keeping to the general idea I had started with. I could see this deck being a whole lot better just not sure where to go with it from here. The idea is to get a Pyromancer Ascension out ASAP. If you need to cast anything before dropping an ascension try to make sure to only cast one copy of any given card. The sooner you have ascension charged the sooner you get double Lightning Bolt s and double Foresee .

If you can counter a spell with Mana Leak worry less about the power of the spell it could be countering and more about whether it will help you charge an ascension as once the ascension is charged your the counter magic is the only aspect of the deck that does not get doubled. Consider however if you are playing against someone that may be able to get rid of the ascension that you may want to hold on to a counter for whatever that may be.
