It is believed that, in the final moments of life, we are given a final gift: reminiscence. As the candle wick nears its end, the flame roars to life, if only for a second, and sheds its light one final time upon the tapestry of our existence. What we focus on in that final burst of contemplation is up to us, and our Egos.

For Avacyn, it was of Glory and Light.

It was of triumph, of bravery, and of unity. Most importantly, it was of her pride; but not in herself. It was for the Humans she had inspired and honored with her protection; and for the Angels that had followed her unwaveringly into battle. As her light faded, they would continue to stand steadfast against great Evils. They had become champions and heros in their own right. It was their perseverance and tenacity that had made her Innistrad's great Protector; no accomplishment of hers could ever rise higher than theirs.

They were her Glory. They were her Light.
