[EDH] Anafenza, the Lifeline

Commander / EDH*

LastProtagonist

The goal of this deck is to provide a strong casual deck with a modest budget to provide a challenge against the more competitive EDH player as well as the casual EDH player. While it's not designed to be infinite combo-reliant, there are a few infinite combos to match the douche level of your table.

Playstyle

Tutor out Lifeline since Anafenza makes it so only my creatures come back from the graveyard. I use plenty of ETB and sacrifice effects to keep ahead.

This deck is designed for early ramp into tutors to control my board state. Enemies can wipe the table they won't see their creatures again and I'll be fine.

Depending how serious I am, once I have Lifeline, I can tutor Sidisi, Undead Vizier and exploit itself on every player's turn if I have a sac engine (you can exploit Sidisi himself for the sac engine of your choice.)

In case I do experience a lot of hate I also have a decent amount of recursion with cards like Eternal Witness, Sun Titan, Greenwarden of Murasa, Pyrrhic Revival and Living Death (which also double as a board wipe if I have Anafenza in play.)

Win cons

Dealing with enemy bombs

Strengths

  • Bigass creatures that continue to become bigger and more threatening
  • Resilience to board wipes
  • Recursion
  • Stopping dredge or reanimator decks with Anafenza

Current Weaknesses

  • Creature reliant
  • If Lifeline gets exiled, the deck could be really slowed down.
  • Leyline of the Void, Rest in Peace, etc.
