The goal is to continuously generate two resources: tokens and +1/+1 counters. On his own, Ghave can't generate new resources; he can only convert tokens to +1/+1 counters, and vice-versa. But combined with one of several permanents in the deck, he can create more than one token or +1/+1 counter each time he uses one of his abilities. Some do so by making more tokens, while others do so by making more +1/+1 counters. Seedborn Muse is great for letting you do more activations on each other player's turns.

The deck focuses on going wide (i.e. more tokens than +1/+1 counters) to utilize the benefits of several different cards, including:

Custom Categories

  • Land: All lands.
  • Ramp: Non-land cards that either create mana or help cast things faster.
  • Draw: Put more cards into your hand.
  • Creature Removal: Remove creatures from the battlefield.
  • Other Removal: Remove non-creature permanents from the battlefield.
  • Tokens: Create creature tokens, or double the number of tokens created by other effects.
  • Add Counters: Create additional +1/+1 counters.
  • Increase Counters: Increase the number of +1/+1 counters created by other effects.
  • Drain: Effects that make opponents lose life and you gain life when your creatures die.
