Welcome all to the world of Trest where a handsome price awaits anyone who brings your head to me.

Edric, the greatest spy Trest has ever known

For this mission I choose my elite elvish infiltrator - Edric, Spymaster of Trest. He uses blistering speed and cunning evasion to get the job done quickly and efficiently. The strategy of this Commander deck is pretty straightforward but with some interesting twists.

First play a bunch of small creatures with evasion.

Second drop Edric as soon as possible (turn two is ideal).

Third attack and start drawing cards to put more little menaces on the board.

Fourth protect Edric and your army of fragile beaters with counterspells.

Finish the game by either making your small creatures into humongous beasts or taking a couple of extra turns for the win.

The win conditions are lots of creatures plus any of the following cards: Beastmaster Ascension, Overrun, Triumph of the Hordes, Notorious Throng, Walk the Aeons, Part the Waterveil

There are also some cool interractions. First of all there three strong tribal elements, though the deck is not tribal. These three dominant tribes are faeries, rogues, and elves. We play a lot of faeries not only because they are small and evasive but because they help Spellstutter Sprite work her countemagic better. We play a lot of rogues for Notorious Throng 's prowl activation. We play a lot of elves for the mana ramp. Interestingly enough this deck does not utilize mana rocks, even the allpresent sol ring is not necessary here. Just leave it to the elves.

I won't go through all the cards but only through some that I find to be all stars. First is Trygon Predator. He is really efficient in removing pesky artifacts and enchantments. Pongify, Rapid Hybridization, Reality Shift and song of dryads are really good removal spells. My favourite counterspell in the deck is Foil because you can play it even if you are tappedout.Scryb Ranger has a pretty powerful ability to untap creatues.

Now for the strengths and weaknesses of the deck. I find this deck really enjoyable to play. It is fast. It is interactive. It draws you a lot of cards. it is pure tempo and is political. The commander is your greatest defence. People would rather attack the others and draw a card. Edric literally bribes your opponents not to attack you. Last but not least this is a budget deck.

Weaknesses. It can be difficult to win if the game drags for too long and other more powerful creatures and spells make their way. You should try your best to put out Edric as early as possibe and protect him well. If he is sent to the commandzone even once you will lose the tempo. Board wipes too spell disaster so aways be prepared. last but not least this is a budget deck. It can be improved by adding more time walk/ extraturn cards and infinite loops whre a player takes turn after turn but I don't find this enjoyable.

I would be more than glad to read your comment bellow. Give it a try and like if you like.
