This is a deck that will make your opponent hate you. Being a mill deck, the goal of this deck is not to reduce your opponent’s life point down to zero, but to reduce their library down to zero instead.

The power of this deck lies in its ability to draw more cards per turn, and in doing so, start a combo effect of milling your opponent’s library. Unlike the typical blue deck, most of the action happens in the players turn, unless I/you find a way to make the cards having the ‘flash’ ability.

Enchantment

The mechanic for this deck lies on the power of the enchantment to create a mill combo.

  • Sphinx's Tutelage = Ensure that milling your opponent happen when you draw your card, especially during your card drawing in the upkeep. Your opponent will continue milling their deck until they mill a pair which have at least 1 land in it.

  • Psychic Corrosion = Like the card above, you will mill your opponent during your card drawing in the upkeep phase.

  • Fraying Sanity = A mill multiplier enchantment. It helps you double the amount of mill that happen in a turn and it will resolve before your opponent start their turn. Let say during your turn you are able to mill your opponent for 5 cards, with this card, at the end of your turn, you will mill your opponent extra five cards.

Instant and Sorcery

Since the power of mill happens as you draw your cards, the instant and sorcery in this deck will help you with this.

  • Arrester's Admonition = Helps you bounce back large/dangerous creature back to the opponent’s hand and then let you draw a card.

  • Didn't Say Please = A counter spell with a milling effect.

  • Opt = Help you scry your library and draw your card. Since it was an instant, combined with the enchantment, you can also mill during your opponent’s turn.

  • Divination = Help you draw your card.

  • Tome Scour = Although not a card draw, this will mill your opponent’s library, giving more chance for you to cast Into the Story for a discount.

  • Into the Story = Although it looks expansive, in this mill deck, it will be cheap with a discount of 3 if your opponent have 7 or more cards in their graveyard, which is bound to happen. Since it was an instant, combined with the enchantment, you can also mill during your opponent’s turn.

Planeswalker and Creature

Apart from our enchantment, sorcery and instant, the rest of our cards will also help in reducing your opponent from drawing the card that they need.

  • Jace, Wielder of Mysteries = A draw and mill card. Its -8 is lethal if we combine it with Sphinx's Tutelage where they will need to continuously mill 2 cards until they mill a land in the pair, for each cards you draw. So say if your opponent is lucky and mill a land in ever pair, that is at least 16 card mill. It also give your opponent an alternate target for damage which gives you time to mill their deck.

  • Merfolk Secretkeeper = A new mechanic from Throne of Eldraine where we get a mill sorcery and a creature blocker.

  • Wall of Lost Thoughts = A blocker that also act as mill generator as it enters the battlefield.

  • Vantress Gargoyle = Sometimes, milling is still not enough and you still need to bring down your opponent's health to 0.

Side deck

  • Ashiok, Dream Render = Vanilla mill planeswalker and a graveyard cleaner incase your opponent have the ability to utilise their graveyard like a black deck is famous for.

  • Chronic Flooding = An interesting and annoying card that could prevent your opponent from tapping their lands for mana unless they want to mill themselves.

  • Run Away Together = Bounce back your opponents creature to give you more time to mill their deck.

  • Traumatize = A card for the late game or when you have enough mana to cast it. It literally mills half of your opponent deck. Combine that with Fraying Sanity , that is an instant game over.

  • Thought Collapse = A counter spell with a milling effect.
