In short, a would-be Modern Deck focused on Auras and the Heroic mechanic, lead by none other than the "Mentor of Heroes" himself, Ajani. Not only does the name sound very fitting, but this version of the Planeswalker is more synergistic with my strategy; multiple +1 counters aside, he can grab Auras from the Deck, and perhaps even provide Life for cards like Orzhov Charm and Blessing of Leeches.

As you'd expect, Agent of the Fates and Hero of Iroas are key players here, as are the Auras that can return to the battlefield should they be spent, such as Rancor and Spirit Loop. The non-recurring Auras are put at higher numbers.

Favored Hoplite was chosen over Phalanx Leader so that more one-drops would be available, and his damage-prevention is nice to boot. Hero of Leina Tower isn't as beefy as Lagonna-Band Trailblazer for a 1-drop, but I feel that the Mana-sink effect will be nicer in the long run. Shielding Plax could replace Canopy Cover for its draw power, but I'm on the fence about the mana expense.

After a fair amount of research, I think I've crafted a respectable ratio of Mana production, Auras, and Instant-speed spells to make combos and defend myself from opposing strategy, but I am more than open to suggestions (especially for the Sideboard), as I am certainly no professional!
