Basically this deck revolves around 2 things: Extort/Life-gain and the one-drop, Ethereal Armor (with Ethereal Armor being pumped up by all other enchanments)
Tithe Drinker and Vampire Nighthawk are the key because of their Lifelink ability. These two are the best to target with the Armor or the Gift of Orzhova to max out your life gain and gain control of the battlefield.
The Best combo this deck has is the Vampire Nighthawk Ethereal Armor combo, creating a Flying Deathtouch First-Strike Lifelink creature that's practically unstoppable, (since first-strike and deathtouch will guarantee a kill and lifelink is the life gain) especially with other enchantments to boost its toughness.
Arrest
and
One Thousand Lashes
hold down enemy creatures for a while pumping up the Armor.
Azorius Arrester
holds them down to allow a clear attack and provides you a creature.
Handle opponent creatures with Devour Flesh,
Executioner's Swing
, and
Orzhov Charm
(or you can arrest or lash them, too) until you get yours out or to clear them out for an attack. The life change provided by
Orzhov Charm
and Devour Flesh is balanced by extort/lifelink.
Also,
Orzhov Charm
can be used to save an enchanted creature like Vampire Nighthawk or Tithe Drinker when they're put in front of danger like withe removal or burn spells, saving both creature and enchantment.
Obzedat is the disappearing and extorting master.
Basilica Screecher
the flying defender and extort trigger.
Thrull Parasite
grounded defending extorter. Keening Apparition anti-enchantment and defender/attacker. Blind Obedience anti-haste, slows down creature defence (forces creatures to come in tapped so they can't block with them), and extorter.
Chalice of Life
helps gain life and is a great win card when transformed in to
Chalice of Death
. Glaring Spotlight anti-hexproof and win card for since 4 mana will make your creatures unblocakble and hexproof for the turn.
if you have any questions or suggestions about this, just post in the comments. Any critique is more than welcome (actually that's why I'm posting this deck, so I can get some valuable insight in improving this deck)
(The 3 non-RtR block cards in this deck will be cycled out after it's out of Standard to stay in standard but I don't know how this deck will stay together without the vampire nighthawks, Any suggestions?)
