Bit of a different take (for me) on Modern Superfriends. The deck has two main avenues to win:
What I'm trying to do here is use Endless Whispers to acquire my opponents creatures while not giving them access to any of mine. Since nearly all of my creatures are tokens, once they hit the graveyard they are removed from the game and will not come under my opponent's control.
Supporting
Endless Whispers
is a number of kill cards and board wipes:
Supreme Verdict
Wrath of God
Go for the Throat
Dismember
While I'm hopefully killing my opponents board (and eventually acquiring his/her creatures), my planeswalkers will be landing and causing more havoc.
Jace, Vryn's Prodigy
--> Because I'm playing a superfriends deck that splashes blue. Reduces damage, can recur kill spells. Not really interested in his ultimate.
Liliana of the Veil --> Same reason as Jace except for Black. Actually, the hand disruption is great and the -2 ability works well with
Endless Whispers
Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver --> Another great 3-drop planeswalker. Ashiok can whittle away my opponnet's deck and in an emergency I can use the -X ability to stand up a defense.
Elspeth, Knight-Errant --> The +1 is mostly there to provide a body to protect my planeswalkers. Once the game is in hand thought I'll switch to the other +1 and start crashing in.
Sorin, Solemn Visitor --> Soren helps stabilize the board with his +1 and provides an additional blocker with the -2. His ultimate plays really well with
Endless Whispers
.
Gideon Jura --> His +2 can take the heat off of my other walkers. If he survives he'll likely kill a enemy creature with the -2 ability. Rarely though will I use the 0 ability to attack.
Elspeth, Sun's Champion --> one of the more obvious win conditions. Left unchecked, Elspeth can take over a game on her own.
The deck also features a smallish hand disruption, counter, and board control package:
Thoughtseize
Inquisition of Kozilek
Remand
Mana Leak
Terminus
