Maybeboard

I'm basically trying to make a BWG version of enbantments, as some kick-ass cards from Gatecrash and DGM make it much more viable in my opinion. I've had a 24/24 lifelink, trample, double striker turn 3 during playtesting. It's silly. How did I do it? here's a breakdown of the cards.

Dutiful Thrull : An amazing one-drop to start enchanting early on, with B: Regenerate you can just leave one mana open to prevent any board wipe or removal shy of Terminus from affecting him. Very hard for your opponent to get rid of.

Rancor: If your running green enchantments and not Rancor, you're doing it wrong. An amazing enchantment that's extremely hard to get rid of.

Abundant Growth: Adds to Ethereal Armor, mana fixes, and draws. Not much more you could ask for in a one-drop.

Ethereal Armor: With all the enchantments in this deck, this can be an immediate +10/+10 for one mana.

Vizkopa Guildmage: Adds lifelink to a creature, and sometimes I can gain the odd 28 life per turn. Also, if you manage to use both abilities on your guy, you can essentially give him double strike (or quadruple strike on Fencing Ace ).

Blind Obedience: Lifegain, damage, Helps slow down aggro and makes their blockers wait a turn with a good little bit of extort. A solid card.

Fencing Ace : When he's packed full of Ethereal Armor, Rancor, and holy mantle, he becomes a force to be reckoned with.

Gladecover Scout : Being a hexproof 1 drop makes him easy to get and hard to get rid of. Pretty obvious target for enchanting.

Stab Wound : Great to help whittle down your opponent's life, and stop any of their major blockers. Again, it also adds onto Ethereal.

Curse of Exhaustion : Shuts down most decks, and in combination with Blind Obedience it makes your big guy harder to block. by making the one blocker that they can put out have to wait a turn to even do anything. Very fun way to shut down your opponent.

Unflinching Courage: It used to be 2 Holy Mantle and 2 Gift of Orzhova here, but I think +2/+2, lifelink, and trample are much better. After playtesting, I'll check out if it really deserves a 4 of, or if I need to change it back or mix around. For now though, he stays.

Sphere of Safety: Shuts down Aggro and weenie decks when your engine won't roll as fast as usual. Enchantment to add to my Ethereal. Not much to argue about, I like it as a 2 of.

That about does it. Any thoughts? Suggestions? Please let me know in the comments below.

Updates Add

I dismantled this deck a while ago, but after some thought I decided to put it back together and with some help from DGM it runs beautifully. No one expects it, no one can really slow it down.

Here's a play by play:

Round 1: Selesnya Tokens, 2-0

G1: Stomped them turn 3 with a stupid big Fencing ace, they tried to block with their centaur and 2 spirits but I still went about 6 damage over lethal.

G2: He got mana flooded, only managed to get a Thraben Doomsayer out before I killed him I think t4 with my beefed up Thrull.

Round 2: Naya "Most expensive cards in magic" 2-0

I swear to god, this was basically a compilation of Thundermaws, Huntmasters, Thragtusk, Garry, and a whole bunch of just really expensive cards. Still won though.

G1: My engine got slow to roll, but after throwing down both my spheres, a curse of exhaustion, 3 abundant growths, and a stab would I managed to whittle him down. He burned off my Ace early on, and I just couldn't find any more creatures.

G2: Stomped past his Voice and Loxodon.

Round 3: American (RWU) Control 2-0

G1: kept me at bay with a T3 minotaur on the play, but I got the rancor I needed for the win T4 and he couldn't counter it.

G2: Trampled over his reckoner with an 12/8 double strike T3.

Round 4: Junk Rites 2-1

G1: Mana Flood, mulled down to 3 then conceded. It happens to the best of us, I suppose.

G2: Perfect hand, t3 win with a 10/8 Double Strike Trampler.

G3: First win using Vizkopa GM all night, Had a only a 6/6 lifelink double strike and vizkopa, swing, 10 gets through (blocks with his voice) and before damage I trigger Vizkopa's second ability, and he loses 10. GG.

Round 5: I get a Bye

Top 8:

Round 1: Naya Blitz 2-0

G1: I get down to 3 but after some careful blocking and lifelink triggers I manage to trample over.

G2: He gets mana flood. Kind of anti-climactic but oh well.

Round 2: Junk rites (same guy as before) 2-0

G1: T3 10/8 Lifelink Trample double Strike on the play.

G2: Vizkopa win, double trigger his second ability on a 6/4 lifelink High Priest. After getting the stink eye for being his only 4 game losses that night he begrudgingly signs the slip.

Top 2/round 3: Another Naya Blitz, 2-1

G1: T3 win, 10/8 Lifelink Trample double Strike on the play. He had swung out for 9 turn 2 with a Champion T1, a burning tree and a lightning mauler soulbonded T2, but I got the rancor I needed to load up my Fencing ace that turn.

G2: Couldn't find a guy soon enough, got killed T4.

G3: I kept him at bay with a dutiful thrull and unflinching courage on him for lifegain and consistent blocking, then got out a sphere and he couldn't pay for anything with his 3 lands and my 4 enchantments so I just let him dig for mana while I whittled him away with a Stab Wound.

Overall, it was a good night. only 2 losses, one due to mana screw and the other due to creature screw. I'd say I had fun. Also, I pulled a foil Varolz and a Voice in my packs, thinking Voice might be a better addition than High Priest. If you have any thoughts on the matter, please leave them in the comments.
