As a kid in the ‘90s, my friends used to get rather annoyed when I’d take out “The Black Deck”, full of removal, flyers and an aggressive curve (I’m looking at you Dark Ritual into Hypnotic Specter). While this deck does not have the same strategy, it is inspired by my favorite childhood deck. I chose Erebos, God of the Dead as my commander because of how open-ended he is and the opportunities to slip in some nostalgic cards that don’t detract from my strategy. Generally, I’m looking to stick to life drain, life gain and card draw, while protecting my strategy. Suggestions welcome!
