An illegal commander by the official rules, [Evershrike] is such a unique creature that I just had to build around it. A comparison between it and Uril just begs to happen, so here are the pros and cons:

CONS: -is only a 2/2 -no hexproof -no green means no ramp -no red means no haste and no [Runes of the Deus]

PROS: +has flying +can resurrect itself instantly ad nauseam as long as you have an Aura in hand +black gives access to some nasty out-of-the-voltron-box Auras and spells

So, in short, Evershrike trades some power for built-in evasion and some power auras for more sneaky, controlly ones. And hexproof for freaking reanimation! It's kinda a Zombie Uril, really. With wings. Happy hunting!
