This is a deck about milling. The goal is not to beat people to death with creatures. The goal is not to drain people with black spells. We are here to mill (and to control the board) but mostly to mill!

This deck is what I would call complete, it has won games, and I understand improvements can still be made. One day, I think this will evolve into a vicious black and blue control deck. But, for today, mill them. Mill them all!

The way I choose to win with this deck is to mill my opponents, generally one at a time. Usually, up until the point where you do some crazy mass-milling, this lets you fly under the radar of most players. It also lets you play a great deal of politics. There are a select few counter spells (I don't like to use too many) that can make you a lot of friends very fast.

However, you do have to take steps to keep yourself alive. Board wipes like Decree of Pain + Dregs of Sorrow can keep the board state in check. The Silent Arbiter is amazing at keeping token decks and mass-creature builds locked down.

Clearly, you will be putting a lot of stuff into graveyards and a few cards here make every graveyard something you can take advantage of. The Diluvian Primordial + Dimir Doppelganger let you pick and choose some of the best spells your opponents have and put them on your side. Rise of the Dark Realms simply ends games once you have milled enough.

One of the best methods to mill is using Phenax, God of Deception + Thousand-Year Elixir to tap your huge creatures once they enter the field. There is also the combo with Eater of the Dead which lets you go semi-infinite with mill as long as you are not playing against only Narset, etc. However, I don't like to play it because it just ruins games (and sometimes friendships). Play it at your own risk.
