Mono-Black Beaters, splashing for seige rhino , Rakshasa Deathdealer and Sorin, Solemn Visitor. Planning on taking this to TCGPlayer.com $5k in Cleveland next month. Need to fix the manabase before I do, though.

Mono-Black has lost many of the creatures that it depended on pre-rotation, but I believe this can be more than compensated for by splashing for Rhino and Deathdealer, two very powerful cards. Deathdealer is near-impossible to kill barring Anger of the Gods , and Rhino is...well, the lynchpin of Standard. This deck has enough size and tempo to withstand the early game from any hyper-aggro or Sligh build. It beats midrange by going over the top with Master of the Feast and by bestowing Herald of Torment onto Rhino or Deathdealer, and also through the damage racked up if you can land a Rhino into a turn 5 Gray Merchant of Asphodel. Murderous Cut gets the nod over Hero's Downfall because we want to be spending as much mana on creatures as possible, and being able to pay 1 or 2 to kill is a lot easier on the mana.

I'm still considering my sideboard, so please recommend what you would put in there for different matchups!!
