Commander: Karona, False God

Maybeboard

The people of the city grew paranoid for their safety and well-being. In a vain hope for survival, a multitude of Walls were built. Behind which sat temples to every god they could think of to call on. In the end, only the false god and the deceiver came to their "aid". Now the citizens squabble over the best course of action: open the gates and flee, build a new tower to pray for their salvation, wait out the end times behind their walls, or open the door to nothingness.

This started out as joke deck. Except it actually has won. I've made a few changes from the version I play at my FLGS, and have made some swaps to make it a much cheaper cost to purchase the singles.

Win conditions include: 1) Beating people to death with Walls. E.g. Mirror Wall, Mobile Fortress, Rolling Stones + Asault Formation, Doran, the Siege Tower + Rolling Stones . 2) Milling people to death with Hold the Gates + Phenax, God of Deception plus as many gates a you can and tapping every wall.3) Keeping Helix Pinnacle safe behind walls long enough to pump it up... Helix Pinnacle + Overgrown Battlement plus everything with defender adding more mana. 4) Erecting all the Gates within the expanse of walls and using Maze's End. 5) Using the Door to Nothingness in my walls to evict the opponent.

My FLGS loves this deck. They love seeing it played, playing against it, and I've let some others play it against people when I've been busy with other things. This is definitely better in a muliplayer format as it is way to slow in 1v1. This is very much a landscape changing deck, in that people think they can ignore you but if they do then you've pillow forted hard & a gearing up to strike or mill. So you must be dealt with consistently or you will start knocking people out... but if they attempt to deal with you too much then they're giving the game to someone else.

Milling is almost always the wincon. It seems to happen more consistently. Draw problems do exist. There have been a handful of changes made to improve playability. This includes adding Abundance + Sylvan Library , Rhystic Study, Door of Destinies, and Conflux.
