Now THIS is an overhaul. Several cards in this deck have recently changed around, and the idea behind the changes are simple: speed. Why steam our broccoli on the stove? It's 2018, grandpa, and we just bought a microwave.

Temur is the very definition of versatility. Ramp, Burn, Control, Aggro, Swarm, you name it. I've been experimenting with the tri-color's various applications, and this time, I'm trying my hand at speedy Aggro.

Let's talk best-case scenario to start. Turn 1, play a Forest . It could be a basic, or a Stomping Ground or Breeding Pool , but we need that Green. Use it to start our first tier of ramp: either Birds of Paradise or Arbor Elf . Turn 2, one more land, and Flinthoof Boar , Boggart Ram-Gang , or Flamewake Phoenix . In for a Haste attack to get the ball rolling. Turn 3, either a Savage Knuckleblade with Haste added, or Shaman of the Great Hunt . The field is set, and turn 4 and 5 will be spent killing with Lightning Bolt , or bouncing with Simic Charm to clear the way for an early, easy finish.

But things don't always go as planned. Bad hands happen, bad draws happen, and there's a whole other person sitting across from me who wants to watch me burn. This is why Savage Knuckleblade is one of my favorite cards, because even as a turn 2 drop it's an excellent 4/4 blocker. Then, heck, maybe I need to turn it into a 6/6 for the next turn while it attacks. Flinthoof Boar has a similar use, because even if my mama dorks elude me, it can still come out as a 3/3 on turn 2, just without Haste. Glorybringer is one that would come in a bit later, but the ability to kill a creature and hit for 4 in the air on the turn of its summoning makes it a great option for turn 3 or 4.

Atarka's Command adds in versatility, helping ramp, deal damage, or stamp out enemy Lifegain, for only two mana. Mana Leak is used for countering board wipes, or anything else that might throw a kink into things. And finally, Sarkhan Vol to give haste to my guys that don't get it naturally, or to grab something of my opponent's to use instead.

This deck is one that I'll be bringing into Tournament play very soon, so any and all suggestions and criticisms are welcome and appreciated!

Updates Add

Right. Haven't played in a while, starting to get back into the game. Noticed something very quickly. In high end play, this deck is S L O W. Let's fix that.

So. We have my Gruul deck for dedicated Ramp/Burn. And it does that better. We can drop the Burn.

  • Banefire

Next, all of the excessive ramp that only existed to support Banefire.

  • Kruphix, God of Horizons
  • Mana Reflection
  • Utopia Sprawl
  • Plasm Capture
  • Vorinclex, the Voice of Hunger

And since we're removing Kruphix...

  • Mystic Snake

Now, speed. Let's add in some Hasty creatures, a cheaper counter spell, a good Planeswalker for distraction, and move over a card from my side deck to round things out.

  • Flinthoof Boar
  • Flamewake Phoenix
  • Shaman of the Great Hunt
  • Glorybringer
  • Mana Leak
  • Sarkhan Col
  • Atarka's Command (from side)
  • Stigma Lasher (to side)

Welp. Hope that helps.
