First turn bird means zero need for one or two drops in the deck proper (though we'll use Skyshroud Elf anyway, as a backup in case the bird gets bolted or we run into other early manabase problems), and fetchlands further help thin things down. As a result, in the long game we're set to draw more quality threats than the enemy can remove; some cursory lifegain on already solid cards along with first strike should help us get there.
