FFTWW-1: General Horseplay

Commander / EDH

Hajalak1

Fourth deck of the Fun For the Whole Wheel series.

The original idea behind this deck was to just run all the experience counter legendaries in the same deck. It soon evolved into just running as many Commander product specific cycles as I could. That, failed somewhat. I did notice a pattern, however. It showed through playtesting that the deck was leaning heavily on a group hug strategy. After including a few cycles to double down on that aspect, as well as synergizing with the five EXP generals, you get what you see before you now.

In addition to running the EXP legends, I'm also running the four color commanders, each of which is a solid permanent on it's own. A tertiary strategy would be builing up one of the five planeswalker's to and ult, though that rarely happens. Really, they provide a tiny bit of value while resetting your aggro meter. After one of them dies, people tend to go swing at other people if theey're trying to play "fair". If they don't, you know who to go after.

The pie in the sky ideas mostly involve using Mizzix and Ezuri to make an arbitarily large number of counters, then using Daxos or Kalamne to seal the deal. And by deal, I mean the coffins of your opponents. Most of your actual gameplay, however, will just be pawing through your hand trying to find what best builds off of your current board state to get the most value. Each move brings a new puzzle to solve. Endless hours of joy for you, and long durdly turns for your opponents to bear through.
