A world of sacrifice and destruction! In this deck, we embrace the fiery power of Ziatora, the Incinerator as our new commander, replacing the mighty card:Vaevictus Asmadi, the Dire. Unleash chaos and reap the benefits of sacrificing your creatures for devastating effects. This deck revolves around sacrificing creatures to fuel our strategy, disrupt opponents' plans, and emerge victorious in a fiery blaze.
Gameplan:
The goal of this deck is to utilize a wide array of sacrifice outlets and capitalize on the power of creatures entering and leaving the battlefield. By sacrificing creatures, we generate value, deal damage, and create Treasure tokens with Ziatora's ability. With a plethora of sacrifice outlets and synergistic creatures, we can dominate the board and control the game's flow.
Sacrifice Outlets:
Our deck includes various sacrifice outlets to fuel our strategy and trigger powerful effects. Cards like Bloodflow Connoisseur, Bloodthrone Vampire, and Carrion Feeder allow us to sacrifice creatures at will, while Goblin Bombardment enables us to deal direct damage to our opponents. These outlets provide the flexibility needed to optimize our battlefield presence and disrupt our opponents' plans.
Creature Synergy:
The deck features a wide range of creatures with abilities that synergize with sacrificing. Fleshbag Marauder and Merciless Executioner force our opponents to sacrifice their creatures, while cards like Pawn of Ulamog and Savra, Queen of the Golgari reward us for sacrificing our own creatures by creating tokens and draining our opponents' life totals. Exploit these synergies to gain an advantage and weaken your foes.
Search and Recursion:
To ensure consistency and adaptability, we include powerful search and recursion effects. Cards like Rune-Scarred Demon and Sidisi, Undead Vizier allow us to tutor for key pieces or disrupt our opponents' strategies. Additionally, recursion spells such as Animate Dead and Genesis enable us to bring back crucial creatures from our graveyard, adding to our sacrificial offerings.
Win Conditions:
This deck offers multiple paths to victory. One strategy involves using Primal Surge to flood the battlefield with permanents, overwhelming our opponents and capitalizing on Ziatora's ability to deal damage. Alternatively, we can utilize a massive Genesis Wave to put an incredible number of permanents onto the battlefield, creating an unstoppable force. Our deck also includes powerful enchantments like Vicious Shadows and Lurking Predators, which punish our opponents for their actions and generate additional value for us.
Tips:
Utilize your sacrifice outlets strategically to maximize the impact of Ziatora's damage ability and generate Treasure tokens.
Look for opportunities to exploit the sacrifice triggers of creatures like Fleshbag Marauder and Merciless Executioner to disrupt your opponents' board states.
Take advantage of recursion spells to bring back key creatures or powerful spells from your graveyard.
Keep an eye on the board state and adjust your strategy accordingly. Sometimes it's better to hold back and accumulate resources before unleashing devastating combos.
Plan ahead and be mindful of your mana curve. This deck relies on a balanced mix of creatures, sacrifice outlets, and impactful spells.
Conclusion:
With Ziatora, the Incinerator at the helm, this deck embraces the power of sacrifice and destruction. Explore the depths of your opponents' demise as you build an unstoppable force of creatures and wreak havoc on the battlefield. Sacrifice, strategize, and let the flames of victory consume all who stand in your way.
Vaevictis Asmadi, the Dire has been made commander of this old loved deck of mine and he definitely belongs. Still much love to the original commander and current lieutenant in the 99, Sek'Kuar, Deathkeeper.
We only have two other non-permanents other than Primal Surge, which is such a fun win condition! We want to use a permanent (not a sorcery) like Rune-Scarred Demon, Liliana Vess and now, Sidisi, Undead Vizier, to search out the best card of all time, Living Death. Hopefully we have one of the seven sac outlets to sacrifice our army for free, play Living Death which, if we are lucky, resurrects Rune-Scarred Demon and/or Sidisi, Undead Vizier and allows us to search for another sorcery or two to clear the way for a game-winning Primal Surge. You want to do Genesis Wave for no less than x=6 or 7 and you should come out ahead on Warp World. This does not always happen :-/ Still, Warp World deserves to be played where it can be, in my book :-) Hopefully your token production puts you in the permanent lead and consider you have 96% permanents in your deck. Lifeline enables repeated sacrifice of cards like Sakura-Tribe Elder, Solemn Simulacrum or Viridian Emissary on every player's turn. Hoarding Dragon gets Lifeline or Birthing Pod.
This deck was built with Sek'Kuar, Deathkeeper as the commander but Sek'Kuar, Deathkeeper was never indispensable. He works fine as one of the 99. Prossh, Skyraider of Kher had a turn as commander but actually disappointed at the helm. I subsequently removed him from the 99 because he really only excels as a commander.
The deck has at least one free sac-outlet creature at every converted mana cost including one of my favourite cards, Thermopod, and a nice chain for Birthing Pod... use "broken pod" as soon as you can. Do not hesitate to pay four life and four mana for your first Birthing Pod activation. Panharmonicon was a brief addition and I don't need to tell you Vicious Shadows is insane.
Panharmonicon has been pulled into Aminatou, but replaced by Doom Whisperer, which should be fantastic and should end up being an even better fit in here :-).
Also, since we have well over 40 creatures, Lurking Predators is the nuts.
