Sideboard

Maybeboard

Mid-range American burn. Sometimes it ends the games really quickly (turn 5 is the earliest I've done fatal damage). It's a tempo beatdown of (preferrably) 2-6 damage a turn while trying to synergize around playing lots of instants, either drawing, burning, removing, and/or countering depending on the match-up.

Throw in a random Bonfire of the Damned, which gets a bonus from Electromancer, or a Terminus, and even pull these Miracles on their turn with a Think Twice, and it's over.

When facing a control deck, toss in most of the sideboard and they while removing some burn and the Delver's.

When facing rush-aggro, add in board wipes and remove counterspells.

Round 1: 2-1 vs B/R Vamps

Faced my own deck that a buddy borrowed. He got the first game as my plays didn't line up at all, but in the second and third games I controlled him too much. Nothing worth noting here except Chandra was good for a turn.

Round 2: 1-2 vs RDW

Got the first game while at 1 life. Otherwise it was no contest. The board wipes don't help when I'm so low on life and he's dropping creatures with haste. Burning early creatures doesn't help because I'm not utilizing my board wipes well enough and then I don't have instant speed removal for Hellrider, but if I don't kill the early creatures with burn, I'm taking too much damage. I think Delver of Secrets  Flip needs to go for Augur of Bolas, which can give me a defender to stall with while digging for answers. In general, I'm not winning early enough in any match-up to keep Delver as a priority... all of my wins are mid-range.

Obviously Augur of Bolas can't be my only answer, but it will help. Thinking of Izzet Staticaster or Fog Bank as other options. I just need to slow them down and/gain life... Staticaster has potential uses vs Selesnya or Zombies, so that may be the additional answer.

Round 3: 2-0 vs GRW Thrag or Huntmaster + Kessig Wolf Run

Just destroyed him, which is funny considering this was a weak point last time. The Entreat the Angels came through big in game 1, hard-casting it for 2 angels and using them to establish board control while I wiped everything else out. Game 2 had Jace, then Tamiyo own stuff. I found it funny that when using my -2 ability for Jace and revealing Entreat the Angels, Dissipate, and Goblin Electromancer, that my opponent felt compelled to put the Electromancer in his own pile. It's interesting people barely play this card in American builds, yet everytime someone gets a read on this deck, they do everything possible to minimize it's impact even though it's impact is indirect. I like that a lot :)
