Overview

The following is a "Dredge" Combo deck that has the potential to win on Turn 3. The whole deck is almost entirely built on assembling the combo. It focuses on drawing tons of cards and then looking to discard Protean Hulk and then reanimate it.

So once you can dodge an exile and your Protean Hulk dies you 95% win the game, this is done by footsteps of goryo targeting it. So when it dies you fetch a sac outlet Viscera Seer and a Body Double. You then choose Body Double to become Protean Hulk and then sac it. When it dies you fetch another Viscera Seer and Body Double then do that again fetching Death Cultist and a Reveillark. You sac the Death Cultist and then Reveillark making your opponent lose one life and then return the Body Double, entering as the Reveillark, sac it and return both Revaillark and Death Cultist, and repeat until your opponent dies.

The only time you can't combo off is when all Body Doubles and Reveillarks are in the graveyard. This doesn't happen to often but be careful not to accidentally just lose by throwing away the combo.

Hulk
Creatures:

All are the combo, not much more to say.

Instants and Sorceries:

Lightning Bolt: A modern staple. It provides early board control while you delay to set up your combo.

Izzet Charm: The first of three draw X, discard X. Used to dig while discarding Protean Hulk at the same time. The flexibility is just an added bonus to the card.

Peer Through Depths: Used to find a Footsteps of the Goryo, Lightning Bolt or Remand when you need it.

Remand: A nice counter that is almost always a time walk for you. The cycle ability just makes it that much better. I have also looked at using Thoughseize as it could also discard my Protean Hulk if need be, it was great against any other combo decks but against affinity and burn it just couldn't provide the tool I needed.

Faithless Looting: A cheap draw 2, discard 2. It would be suicide if we didn't include this in our deck. The flashback is a nice bonus when you can't win early.Footsteps of the Goryo: Used to reanimate our Protean Hulk and then sac it at the end of the turn to "go off".

Gitaxian Probe: Used to cycle a card for 2 life or while giving us information on the opponents hand so we know what to Remand or play around when comboing off.

Ideas Unbound: The last of the draw X, discard X. It provides us great card draw to dig 3 for , it sometimes sucks when having to discard at EOT but the majority of times it isn't a problem.

Sideboard
I currently do not have a sideboard as I have yet to take it to an FNM and am waiting to see what the meta is like. The one in the deck is a base that I use for games with friends.

The Turn 3 win, wins at the end of turn 3 and you only need 3 cards to do so.

Perfect Starting Hand:

Footsteps of the Goryo, Faithless Looting, Protean Hulk, Remand, Mountain, Island, Swamp.

The turn three win is:

T1: Red mana, Faithless Looting (discarding Protean Hulk)
T2: Blue Mana, Remand there turn to play.
T3: Black Mana, Footsteps of the Goryo, reanimating Protean Hulk and then EOT sac it and combo off.
There are multiple other way but this is my favorite way to do it.

The deck can win Turn 3 but is fairly fragile if your opponent knows what to do. A counter on footsteps is almost always GG or a Path to Exile on your Protean Hulk is a big hit to your stomach. The main problem is that there is no other win condition which makes the deck weak enough to not be top tier, but a fantastic deck to pick up an play for a Game Day, FNM or Minor Tournament.

Thank you
