From the Mists they Came...

Commander / EDH* BUG (Sultai)

drmetropolis

Maybeboard

A budget Morph deck. The budget was 100 dollars, and I came in just under that.

Any time you have priority, you may turn the face-down creature face up by revealing what its morph cost is and paying that cost. This is a special action. It doesn’t use the stack and can’t be responded to.

This rule is what makes the deck stronger and more fun than it initially seems. Being able to ignore the stack is fantastic. You can easily dodge a lot of control and Stax effects by using morph effects. The trick to playing a morph deck is being tricky. You need to keep your opponents on their toes by switching up when and where you use your morphs. Your best advantage with this deck is that your morphs could be anything. Does that 2/2 counter a spell (Stratus Dancer)? Maybe it gets rid of a pesky artifact (Ainok Survivalist). It might even wipe the board (Bane of the Living), or do something weird like make your commander indestructible (Gift of Doom).

Kadena, Slinking Sorcerer is an incredible value engine, as are Secret Plans and Trail of Mystery. Do your best to protect these cards, as they allow you to slowly out-value the table in most cases.

While this deck is focused and has plenty of ways to win (usually by pumping your board and swinging in), the deck is not very competitive and is still a WIP. Don't expect to sit down at a CEDH table and win with this deck.
