Saw Swayze try a big green ramp deck. I felt like there were a few cards I'd want to swap in, so I'll try it.

The deck that I saw was focused on maxing out Rampaging Baloths, and leaned on a Outcaster Trailblazer and Vaultborn Tyrant card draw engine to dig out the single Nissa, Ascended Animist for the overrun effect to finish.

Ramping package was Llanowar Elves and Glimpse the Core and Trailblazer and Invasion of Zendikar   and Overlord of the Hauntwoods. The Overlord gives a bonus landfall trigger. Smuggler's Surprise can dig out the big boys.

I felt like splitting on the big creature slots to wedge in a couple other finishing angles. Defiler of Vigor adds more ramp plus it spreads out +1/+1 counters to make the small creatures, especially the elves, more real later in the game. Mossborn Hydra gives a landfall-based over the top threat that can also play a bit of defense in some awkward hands that are missing a bit of ramp. It's not that rare to get it up to 64/64 on turn 5 (turn 1 forest elves, turn 2 forest hydra at 1/1, turn 3 fabled passage for 2 landfall triggers hydra up to 4/4, turn 4 fabled passage again up to 16/16, etc.). So instead of 4 Tyrant 4 Baloth, split it to 2 Tyrant 2 Baloth 2 Defiler 2 Hydra.

For ramping, I think Awaken the Woods is much more powerful than Invasion of Zendikar   for this deck. And I like Deeproot Wayfinder over Glimpse the Core as a 2-drop. Wayfinder is slower ramp but more consistent, especially if you have some Escape Tunnel to evade through combat, and it also gives some opportunity for some sac land tools like a Volatile Fault. I don't mind taking out 6 Forests to put in 4 Tunnel and 2 Fault. There should be enough Forests still to get Nissa's overrun enough juice. And the Tunnel giving another 4 cards that trigger Landfall twice is a bonus.

Overall, I like these changes. You can go wide with Baloth beasts. You can go over the top with the Hydra. You can pump the weenies with the Defiler. You can grind with the Tyrant. You have lots of mana ramp and lots of card draw. And there's a bit of space left over to add some general control or matchup counters like Monstrous Emergence or Archdruid's Charm or Bushwhack or whatever. Lots of threats and angles and fuel. Works for me.
